Objectives of the WOCC Master’s Programme

Work is a fundamental issue in our contemporary societies. As a source of income and dignity, it directly impacts quality of life and social cohesion.

The transformations of the world of work are accelerating due to globalization, technological changes, and the climate crisis. Inequalities in access to decent jobs, occupational health issues, and new models of work organization challenge public policies and call for appropriate reforms.

Faced with these complex and constantly evolving challenges, professionals must master work and employment issues by developing strong analytical and practical skills. This is precisely the objective of the WOCC Master's program.

To address these challenges, the WOCC Master's program is built around two main objectives:

  1. Develop international expertise by strengthening students' analytical perspectives in the field of work and employment, aligned with the needs of organizations, networks, and labor markets on a global scale.
  2. Ensure optimal employability through a multidisciplinary approach, diverse professional experiences, mandatory internships, and the development of transferable skills essential for professional integration.

To achieve these objectives, six leading European and American universities have joined forces to create an innovative program that harmoniously combines in-depth theory, fieldwork, empirical research, and public policy analysis. This unique training prepares students to become key actors in the transformation of the world of work.

Diverse and Strategic Career Opportunities

Upon completion of the WOCC Master's program, graduates are prepared to assume major responsibilities in three areas of expertise:

Regulation and Public Policy Graduates play a key role in designing and implementing labor regulations at national and international levels. They contribute to protecting workers' rights and participate in developing innovative employment policies within international organizations, ministries, or public agencies.

Analysis and Expertise Equipped with advanced analytical skills, they are able to understand and anticipate labor market trends, evaluate the impact of public policies, and analyze classification systems and indicators that shape political decisions and resource allocation. This expertise enables them to work as consultants, researchers, or analysts for various institutions.

Negotiation and Social Dialogue Graduates master collective bargaining processes and social dialogue in internationalized contexts. They know how to establish balanced agreements between employers, employees, and unions, promoting fair and sustainable working conditions. Their understanding of diverse cultural contexts and legal systems enables them to operate effectively across all continents.

This comprehensive and international training makes WOCC graduates versatile professionals, capable of adapting to contemporary challenges in the world of work and actively contributing to its transformation.

A Programme Firmly Focused on Internationalization

Internationalization of the program is therefore crucial for preparing students for these challenges. By exposing them to diverse cultural contexts and engaging them in practical case studies from different regions of the world, the program will enable them to gain a nuanced and comprehensive understanding of contemporary work realities.
