Visit to the French National Archives of the World of Work

The 29 students on the EMJM WOCC Master’s programme, accompanied by Professors José Calderon Gil and Cédric Lomba, visited the French National Archives of the World of Work as part of the programme for the ‘World History of Wage Labour’ course taught by Professor Lomba.

The students learned about the archivists' work and delved into the archives relating to the recent history of Usinor in Dunkirk. This work provided the historical context for their field work week, which will take place from 2 to 6 November in Dunkirk.

This visit also provided an opportunity to initiate a partnership that will foster scientific and educational collaboration between the WOCC Master’s programme and the French National Archives of the World of Work.
